Why does a foldable need a different kind of screen protector
Screen protection on a foldable is really two questions rather than one. The cover screen on the outside is rigid glass, the same kind of surface a standard iPhone has, so a tempered glass screen protector fits it the way it always has. The inner display is a flexible panel that bends every time you close the phone.
That difference is physics rather than a design choice. Tempered glass is heat-treated and chemically strengthened so it stays rigid and spreads the force of a knock across its whole surface. Rigidity is what makes it protective, and it is also why it cannot fold.
So here is the honest version. FoldShield protects the front cover screen. It does not cover the inner folding display, and it does not cover the camera lenses.

How do you look after the inner folding screen
Foldable phones generally arrive with a film already applied to the inner display at the factory, and it is not meant to be peeled off. Treat it as part of the screen rather than as packaging.
The rest of the advice is unglamorous and it works. Keep grit out of the hinge, avoid closing the phone on anything, and clean the inner panel with a dry microfibre cloth instead of a fingernail.

Does the iPhone Duo need a screen protector if the inner screen already has a film on it
The film on the inner panel does nothing for the cover screen, and the cover screen is the one meeting keys, coins and cafe tables all day. That outer surface picks up scratches first on any foldable. Tempered glass over the front is the layer that is missing.
Will a screen protector stop the phone folding flat
Not on the cover screen. FoldShield sits on the outside face of the phone, well away from the hinge and the fold, so the two halves still close the way they should. Rigid glass across the inner panel would be a genuine problem, which is one of the reasons we do not make one.
Do screen protectors affect the touch sensitivity of the screen
A well made tempered glass protector should not. Cygnett glass maintains original screen brightness and touch responsiveness, so typing, swiping and gestures feel the same as bare glass. Thick budget film is where lag and dead spots tend to appear. Check that the listing states touch sensitivity.
How do you apply a screen protector with no bubbles
Clean the screen with the included wipe, lift the last of the dust with the tape, then sit the applicator tray over the phone and lower the glass in. Press once in the centre and let the adhesive spread outwards on its own. Small edge bubbles usually clear within a day.
