Load up on power with the best high-capacity Power Banks

Running out of battery during a video call, at the airport, or mid-adventure is the worst. And that low-battery panic? No thanks. That’s why high-capacity Power Banks are a must. These powerhouse portable chargers pack serious power to charge your smartphones, tablets, laptops, earbuds, and more with fewer top-ups.

At Cygnett, we've got high-capacity Power Banks that go all the way up to 40,000 mAh and are designed right here in Australia. Built for real life use and backed by a 2-year warranty, they’ll power up more of what matters.

What is a high-capacity Power Bank?

A high-capacity Power Bank has a battery capacity of over 20,000 mAh. The bigger the mAh capacity, the more devices you can charge without needing to recharge the Power Bank.

To put that into perspective, a 20,000mAh Power Bank can only deliver up to 5 full charges for an iPhone and 1 full tablet charge. For higher capacity models, you can expect:

27,000 mAh Power Bank: Up to 6 phone charges, 1–2 tablet charges, and enough juice to partially recharge a USB-C laptop

30,000 mAh Power Bank: Around 6–7 phone charges, up to 2 tablet charges, and a quick top-up for your laptop

40,000 mAh Power Bank: Charge your phone up to 10 times, power a MacBook Pro, and still have juice for your earbuds, Bluetooth speakers, smartwatches, and more.

Is a high-capacity Power Bank right for you?

If you rely on multiple devices daily, the answer is probably yes. A high-capacity Power Bank is ideal for:
1. remote workers
2. digital nomads
3. gamers
4. photographers and videographers
5. students juggling laptops, tablets, and phones

Keep in mind, most airlines only allow Power Banks up to 100Wh (around 27,000 mAh) in carry-on. So if you're a frequent flyer, go for a compact Power Bank that meets those limits.

What to look for in a high-capacity Power Bank

If you're planning to buy a high-capacity Power Bank but are confused about the options, here are some things you should look out for:

1. Capacity that suits your lifestyle

Think in real terms. If you want to charge your iPhone and iPad Pro daily, 20K might be enough. Charging a laptop? You’ll want 25K or more.

2. USB-C and USB-A ports

USB-C Power Banks are perfect for fast charging newer Apple iPhones, Android phones, iPad Pro, MacBook Pro and more. USB-A is still handy for older devices that use Lightning or micro-USB chargers. A mix of both is best.

3. Charging speed

Look for Power Banks with USB-C PD (Power Delivery) for super fast charging. 20W–45W output is great for quick charging tablets and phones. If you’re charging a laptop, you’ll want at least 60W output.

4. Compact design and portability

High-capacity doesn’t have to mean bulky. We have slim, lightweight portable Power Banks that slide into your backpack or laptop bag. Perfect for everyday carry.

5. Smart extras

Digital displays that show battery level or charging status make life easier. Built-in USB-C cables or multiple ports? Even better. Pass-through charging lets you recharge your Power Bank while still charging your devices. While built-in cables eliminate the need to carry adapters or extra cables.

How to choose the best Power Bank for your needs

More than the specs, choosing the right Power Bank is also about matching it to your needs. Here's a quick guide:

Need a Power Bank for your laptop?

Look for a laptop Power Bank with USB-C PD output of 60W or higher. These are built to fast-charge USB-C laptops like MacBook Pro, HP, Dell, and more. Bonus if it includes a charging cable or a travel case like our HighPWR 148W laptop Power Bank.

Want to charge all your devices at once?

Go for a multi-port portable charger with at least one USB-C port and one USB-A port. You’ll be able to charge your phone, tablet, and even a laptop all at the same time.

Travelling with tech

Keep it under 27K mAh (100Wh). That way, it’s carry-on approved with no drama. Also, stick to compact Power Banks that are lightweight, durable and easy to pack. Be sure to check with your airline before travelling to understand their rules about Power Banks.

Working remotely or off-grid?

Choose a large capacity Power Bank, about 30,000 mAh or more, like our ChargeUp Maxx, with fast charge and pass-through charging. You’ll stay powered through workdays, hikes or festivals.

Just want something powerful but compact?

Pick a 20K–27K model with at least one USB-C port and fast charge capability. That’s your sweet spot for portability and performance.

Can you bring high-capacity Power Banks on a plane?

It depends on your Power Bank's mAh capacity. Most airlines in Australia (and globally) only allow up to 100Wh (around 27,000 mAh) with no extra paperwork. Over 100Wh but under 160Wh may need airline approval. Anything beyond that is typically off limits.

Keep in mind that Power Banks must only be in your carry-on, never in checked baggage. Many airlines also ban the use of Power Banks on onboard, so make sure to fully charge your devices before boarding.

Rules can vary between airlines, though. So, always check your carrier's specific rules before you fly.

How long do high-capacity Power Banks take to charge?

It depends on a few things:

Battery capacity: Bigger mAh takes longer to fill

Input power: USB-C PD 60W recharges faster than 20W

Wall charger used: A fast charging wall charger like Cygnett’s 100W GaN model can help charge some Power Banks faster, depending on their input wattage.

As a general guide:

20,000 mAh Power Bank: 3–5 hours with a 30W+ USB-C charger

30,000 mAh Power Bank: 5–7 hours with a 60W charger

40,000 mAh Power Bank: 7–9 hours with a 65W–100W charger

Are high-capacity Power Banks safe to use?

Yes, if you choose the right one and use it properly. Keep these tips in mind:

1. Don’t leave in direct sunlight or inside hot cars
2. When charging Power Banks, avoid using cheap or unverified wall chargers, as they could short-circuit and damage the internal battery.
3. Don’t use overnight or unattended.
4. Store in a cool, dry place when not in use.

Above all, only buy from trusted brands like Cygnett. Our Power Banks are tested to meet global standards and include a 2-year warranty for peace of mind.
