Safeguard your tech with the toughest fireproof bags

Your laptop, your phone and your Power Banks all run on lithium batteries. Most days, they behave. On a rare bad day, a damaged or faulty battery can overheat, swell and catch fire inside your home or while travelling.

A Cygnett fireproof bag is the simplest way to protect yourself and your surroundings from that exact moment. Pop the device inside, seal it, and the bag does the hard work of holding heat and flames in one place.

Our fireproof bags come in three sizes to suit a single phone or a whole stack of devices, and every one is tested to UL94 flammability standards. That means real protection you can count on.

Why your tech is more at risk than you think

Lithium-ion batteries pack a lot of energy into a small space. That is what makes your laptop thin and your Power Bank light. But damaged, cheap or ageing lithium batteries can pose a fire risk.

When a battery gets damaged, overcharged or simply faulty, it can overheat in a process called thermal runaway. One cell heats up, that heat sets off the next cell, and the reaction feeds itself until the battery ignites. It happens fast, and it is hard to stop once it starts.

A few everyday moments raise the odds. Charging a phone overnight on a soft bed, storing spare batteries loose in a drawer, or carrying a Power Bank at the bottom of a bag can all lead to thermal runaway.

A fireproof bag will not stop a battery from failing. But it does contain the fire damage, so one bad cell never takes your home with it.

How our fireproof bags keep your devices safe

Our fireproof bags work by absorbing and blocking heat, so flames cannot reach the floor, the wall or the next device. A battery can fail inside, and the fire stays trapped where it started. It also serves as a fireproof document bag that protects important papers and devices from outside flames.

That comes down to the build. Many generic bags use a silicone-coated fibreglass lining, which works but leaves you with the scratchy "fibreglass itch" every time you handle it. Our VoltSafe bags pair a soft-touch silicon exterior with a heavy-duty aluminium-foil interior for the same or better heat containment and a smooth, skin-safe feel.

The seal matters too. Ours uses a triple-defence design with a fire-retardant, water-repellent zipper closure, reinforced fasteners and a wide Velcro strip that keeps flames locked in while reducing smoke and heat. The water-resistant outer adds handy water protection, too.

Plus, every bag is certified to UL94 flammability standards, the global benchmark for how synthetic materials resist burning. That is durability, safety & security you can count on for years.

What 'fireproof' really means for your tech

No bag is truly a fireproof safe that survives any fire forever, including ours. What a quality fire-resistant bag (like our VoltSafe range) does is contain a battery fire and hold back external heat long enough to matter, buying you time and stopping one small fault from spreading.

That is the real protection on offer, and it counts when a Power Bank or other device fails on your desk.

What can you store in a Cygnett fireproof bag?

Plenty. We have options to fit your laptop, tablets, Power Banks, chargers, charging cables and spare lithium batteries. As a fireproof document bag, it keeps your documents safe, too. Your passports, birth certificates and legal documents stay shielded from fire and water, which makes it one of the best fireproof document bag choices for the home. Many use ours as a fireproof money bag for cash and jewellery, too.

It is fully carry-on approved and designed with airline travel in mind. Matching the size to your kit is easy:

For the most secure storage, leave a little room rather than cramming devices in, so it seals properly.
Our bags also slot into your wider emergency preparedness plan. Keep it as a fire-safe emergency bag you can grab in a hurry.

FAQs

1. Where should you keep your fireproof bag at home?
Keep it somewhere cool, dry and easy to reach, like a hallway cupboard or a shelf near the door. A spot by your exit also makes it simple to grab during a bushfire warning or a fast evacuation.

2. Can you take a fireproof bag on a plane?
Yes. Our bags are carry-on approved and designed with airline travel in mind. But when they hold Power Banks or any lithium battery device, keep them in your carry-on, never in checked luggage. Always check your airline's rules first, as they can vary and change from time to time.

3. Do you need to replace your fireproof bag after a fire?
Yes. Once a bag has contained a real battery fire, the heat can weaken the lining and the seal, so retire it and fit a fresh one.

4. Can you charge inside the bag?
No. Charge your device in the open first, where heat can escape, then store it in the bag once it has cooled. Do not charge a battery sealed inside the bag, as the enclosed space traps heat and can pose a fire hazard.
