Your phone and tablet never leave your side. They power your day, from back-to-back meetings to streaming on the train, to snapping pics or editing on the go.
That’s why you need a Power Bank you can count on. With phones and tablets now packing more features, more performance, and bigger screens, they also chew through more power. So a low-output, low-capacity portable charger just won’t cut it.
At Cygnett, our Power Bank range is made for how you actually use your tech. From magSafe-compatible magnetic Power Banks to fast-charging multi-port options, there’s a Power Bank for everyone. Power up with models like the sleek ChargeUp Boost, the compact Thumboost, or the luxe, high-capacity Encore range.
Whether you’re heading to work, school, or off-grid, these Power Banks keep your mobile phones and tablets powered up and ready.
How do I choose the right Power Bank for my tablet and phone?
Here’s what you need to look for:
Battery capacity (mAh): Choosing the right capacity can vary based on your needs. If you only need to charge once, a 5,000 mAh Power Bank will be suitable for a phone. Look for a 10,000mAh Power Bank or higher if you need to recharge a tablet. For more than one charge, you want to look at higher capacity Power Banks.
Charging speed: Check the wattage. For fast charging, go for 20W and above.
Wireless or wired: Want less cable clutter? Choose a wireless Power Bank with MagSafe compatibility.
Ports: USB-C ports are perfect for modern iPhones, Android phones, tablets, and iPads. USB-A is best for older smartphones, earbuds, and accessories. Go for dual USB port or multi port Power Banks if you need to charge multiple devices.
Portability: If you’re constantly on the move, you’ll want something that delivers high power without the bulk. Look for a compact, lightweight portable Power Bank that easily slips into your bag, pocket, or even clips to your backpack.
Extra features: Need a built-in USB-C cable? Magnetic charging? Digital display? Cygnett has it all.
Charging speed matters more than you think
Charging speed is all about wattage. The higher the wattage, the faster your Power Bank can recharge your phone or tablet.
So, if your phone or tablet supports fast charging (most newer models do), you should pay attention to your Power Bank's wattage. Most phones fast-charge from around 18W to 25W. For tablets, it's at least 30W.
The good news is we've got fast-charging Power Banks for phones and tablets, too. Our Encore 10K range, for instance, features USB-C Power Delivery and delivers up to 45W of power, which is more than enough to fast-charge both your phone and tablet. You’ll also enjoy much faster charging than with a standard wall charger.
Quick tip: Pair your Power Bank with a matching USB-C cable to get the most out of the wattage.
What size Power Bank is best for your routine?
You don’t always need the biggest Power Bank. Match it to how you use your devices:
5,000mAh: Great for nights out, backup power, or topping up earbuds and phones
10,000mAh: Perfect for everyday phone use and light tablet charging
20,000mAh: Ideal for regular phone and tablet charging, with power left to share
30,000mAh+: High-capacity Power Banks are best for power users, content creators, or charging multiple devices like your MacBook, tablet, and mobile phones on the go. Keep in mind, however, that most airlines only allow Power Banks up to 99Wh (about 27K mAh).
USB-A or USB-C?
USB-C is the go-to for fast charging modern devices. It supports Power Delivery, which means your phone or tablet charges faster and more efficiently. The latest iPhones (from iPhone 15 and up), iPad Pro, Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel, and most Android phones all support USB-C. Other newer devices, like the latest Apple Watch and AirPods, also use USB-C for charging.
USB-A is still useful for charging devices that use Lightning or micro-USB cables, like older phones, earbuds, Bluetooth speakers, and smartwatches.
Need both? No worries. We also have multi port and dual port Power Banks, so you can charge multiple devices at once. Want to go even lighter? Grab one with a built-in charging cable and skip carrying adapters and extra cables.
Other features you’ll love
Cygnett Power Banks are more than just portable batteries. They're also packed with standout features like:
Digital display: See exactly how much battery life you have left
Built-in USB-C cable: Always have a charging cable ready
Wireless charging: Snap and go with no cables needed
Solar panels: Great for emergencies or those spontaneous trips to the Australian outback
AFL, NRL, and All Blacks logos: Support your team while you power up
Can you bring these Power Banks on a plane?
Yes, you can! Most Cygnett Power Banks are carry-on approved.
As long as your Power Bank is under 100Wh (around 27,000mAh), you’re good to fly. Just pack it in your carry-on, not your checked luggage.
Also, some airlines don’t allow you to use your Power Bank to charge devices during the flight, so keep it on hand but switched off until you land. Always check the latest rules with your airline before travel to avoid any issues getting through security.
How long does it take to charge a phone or tablet with a Power Bank?
It depends on the device and the Power Bank’s wattage.
Phones: With a 20W Power Bank, you can charge most iPhones and Androids from 0 to 50% in around 30 minutes.
Tablets: For iPads and Android tablets, a 30W to 65W output is best. Expect a full recharge in 1.5 to 2 hours with the right charger and cable.
Remember to use a high-quality charging cable for the optimal charging.
