Now you can get serious charging speed in your Power Bank. At Cygnett, we offer a huge range of fast-charging Power Banks built for phones, tablets, and laptops.
We have options that go all the way up to 148W, so you can charge your iPhone, iPad, Samsung Galaxy Tab, MacBook, or any USB-C laptop on the go, without the lag. With features like digital display, ultra slim designs, and carry-on approved options, you’ll surely find your new fave portable charger right here.
What is considered a fast-charging Power Bank?
A fast-charging Power Bank can deliver higher wattage, usually 20W and above, to charge your devices faster.
If it supports USB-C Power Delivery (PD) or other fast-charging standards, then there's a good chance it can charge your compatible devices faster. These features boost charging speed, making them perfect for smartphones, tablets, and laptops.
Look for USB-C ports, especially if they’re marked as PD. They're the most efficient for fast charging. USB-A is still handy for older devices, but USB-C is your best bet for high-speed, reliable power. Some models even include built-in type-C cables, making things even easier.
Fast charging also has a limit. Most devices only charge at top speed from 0 to about 50%. After that, the charging rate slows to protect the battery and manage heat.
How much power do you really need?
Smartphones like the iPhone 17 usually fast charge between 20W to 35W. That’s enough to top up your battery quickly while you’re out and about.
Tablets like the latest iPad Pro need between 30W and 40W for proper fast charging. Any less, and you’ll be stuck watching the battery crawl.
Laptops including MacBook, Surface, and other USB-C models need much more. A compact laptop can charge on 45W, but for full-size laptops, go for a high-capacity laptop Power Bank like our Encore range.
And don’t forget, charging speed also depends on your device's max input. A fast-charging Power Bank can only charge as fast as your phone or laptop allows.
What other features should I look for in a fast-charging Power Bank?
Choosing the best Power Bank comes down to more than just wattage. You also need to consider other functionalities like:
- Multiple USB ports: Handy for charging multiple devices like smartphones, earbuds, AirPods, and tablets
- LED display: Helps track battery level, charging speed, and temperature
- Battery capacity (mAh): Choose 5,000mAh Power Bank for quick top-ups, 10,000mAh for daily use, 20,000mAh+ for tablets or multiple devices, and at least 45,000mAh+ for a full laptop recharge.
- Pass-through charging capability: Lets you charge your device while recharging the Power Bank
- Built-in USB-C cables: Adds convenience, especially on the go
- Portability: Choose compact, ultra slim portable Power Banks like the Thumboost if you need to save space
- Durability: Go for high-quality build with battery protection features
Can fast-charging Power Banks damage my device's battery?
Not if you're using a quality Power Bank.
Cygnett Power Banks are designed with smart charging technology that matches your device’s required input. They also include built-in safety features like overcharge, overheat, and short circuit protection, so your battery stays safe and your device stays happy.
So long as you’re using a reputable fast-charging Power Bank that supports USB-C Power Delivery or similar standards, your iPhone, Android, iPad, MacBook, and other devices are all good to go.
Wired or wireless?
If you want the fastest charging possible, always go wired. Most of our wireless Power Banks top out at 15W. While that is decent for wireless charging and fine for casual top-ups, it won't get your phone to 100% in a hurry.
That said, wireless charging is super convenient. They're especially ideal for airport lounges, cafe tables, or when you're video calling or streaming on the go. No cables. No plugs. Just snap on and go.
Plus, we’ve got MagSafe Power Banks that are compatible with Apple iPhone 12 and above. Android phones with Qi wireless charging, like the latest Pixel or Samsung Galaxy models also work seamlessly with our magnetic Power Bank range.
But if you want both, no worries. We've got heaps of Power Banks that support both wireless and USB-C charging. Perfect for days when you need both wired power and wireless convenience.
Input speed matters, too
It’s not just about how fast a Power Bank charges your device. It’s also how fast the Power Bank recharges itself. The faster your Power Bank charges up, the sooner you can unplug from the wall charger and hit the road.
With a standard wall charger, a 5000mAh Power Bank usually takes around 1.5 to 2 hours to fully recharge. A 10000mAh Power Bank will need about 3 to 4 hours. For a 20000mAh Power Bank, you're looking at roughly 6 to 8 hours. And if you're using a high-capacity 45000mAh Power Bank or more, it could take 8 to 10 hours. But with a high-speed USB-C wall charger, you can lessen the charging time by almost half.
Just keep in mind, charging speed always depends on the Power Bank’s maximum input wattage. If the Power Bank only supports 18W input, it won’t charge any faster even if you plug it into a 100W charger.
Many Cygnett models offer USB-C charging inputs for faster charging and even include a USB-C cable in the box. Some also feature built-in cables, so you’re never left hunting for one.
Charge more with less time
So, the next time you're out and about, don't let slow charging throw a damper on your day. Not when Cygnett's got fast-charging Power Banks that are built to keep up with you.
